![]() Is there a proper way to remove the sticky address from the switchport or VLAN? Has anyone else seen this? Any help would be appreciated. Apparently when using switchport port-security mac-address sticky, the switch scours the entire VLAN for the MAC instead of just that port. If I then change switchport vlan access back to VLAN access, I can re-enable port-security and swithcport port-security mac-address sticky on the switchport without it shutting down. ![]() I have found a workaround in which I am able to set switchport vlan access # where # is a ficticious VLAN number. This can be with or without changing devices on the switchport. It seems that even if I issue a no switchport port-security command and no switchport port-security mac-address sticky command, the MAC is still "stuck" to the switchport because if I re-enable port-security the switchport will go into an err-disabled state. I have these set for switchport port-security mac-address sticky. I have switchport port-security enabled on the switchports. If the absolute option is not configured, the secure MAC addresses time. In this example, secure MAC addresses are immediately timed out after 60 minutes. ![]() ![]() By default, learned MAC addresses stay secure indefinitely. Set the optional port security age timer. ![]() A few Catalyst 3550 switches in particular. Enable port MAC security globally on the device. ![]()
